The Intern will assist in the day-to-day operations of the constituency office, providing support in various administrative, research, and communication tasks. The role is based in the constituency office and will also involve spending a few days in London visiting the UK Parliament and seeing how it works up close including attending Prime Minister’s Questions
Key tasks include:
- Handling constituent enquiries and assisting with constituency casework
- Assisting in researching policy issues and preparing briefing materials for the MP
- Creating content for social media, newsletters, and press releases
- Assisting in organising and promoting community events
- Assisting with general office duties such as answering phones and taking part in team meetings
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in politics and public service
This is a non-partisan internship and applicants do not need to be a member of the Labour Party.
The post is for three months, three days per week and the salary is £23,810 pro rata.
All travel expenses, including travel to London, will be covered.
